Laboratory Heating Mantle / Magnetic Stirring Heating Bath
Laboratory heating mantle (also known as disillation heater) is standard lab equipment for liquid heating and distillation processes. It features fast temperature rise, precise temperature control, simple operation and long service life, widely adopted in laboratories of pharmaceutical, food, water quality testing, petroleum, chemical and university research sectors.
1. Product Features of Intelligent Magnetic Stirring Heating Bath
- Exclusive aluminum alloy heating pot with Teflon coating, supporting water bath and oil bath heating modes.
- Fuzzy PID control algorithm, dual digital display with auto-tuning function, high measurement accuracy and minimal temperature overshoot. Single-touch key operation, irnal & external thermocouple dual temperature sensing, silicon controlled rectifier output, wide voltage compatibility 160–240V, plus thermocouple break protection function.
- Suitable for heating and stirring standard & custom reaction flasks ranging from 50ml to 5000ml.
- Adopts Germany PAPST brushless DC motor with stable performance, low noise, long service life and no electric spark.
- One-piece flame-retardant reinforced PBT injection molded housing, high temperature resistant, anti-corrosion and excellent insulation performance.
- 30° inclined control panel, comfortable viewing angle for both sitting and standing operation.
- Stepless speed regulation: stable low-speed stirring, powerful high-speed stirring.
2. Operation Steps of Laboratory Heating Mantle Stirrer
- Fix the support rod to the screw hole on upper rear of the stirrer, adjust cross clamp height, secure reaction flask with universal clamp, place magnetic stir bar inside flask, plug into AC220V power supply and turn on power switch.
- Turn the “Stirring” knob clockwise and adjust to proper speed as required.
- For large volume or high-viscosity solutions, turn up the knob moderately to enhance stirring torque.
- Temperature setting: Hold temperature increase ▲ / decrease ▼ key to quickly set target heating temperature (e.g. 100℃). Green light on = heating active; green light off = heating stop. The microcomputer automatically calculates heating power based on temperature difference between set value and real temperature to eliminate overshoot, maintaining temperature deviation within ±1℃ for stable heat balance.
- Auto-tuning function: Shortens heating time, minimizes temperature overshoot and optimizes thermal balance under irregular heating power or variable liquid volume. Re-run auto-tuning after changing heating medium or experimental conditions.
- Activate auto-tuning: Press and hold shift key for 5 seconds; flashing digits on setting window indicate auto-tuning running. Digits stop flashing after three temperature overshoot cycles to complete calibration. Auto-tuning must be executed at initial heating stage; mid-process calibration will produce inaccurate parameters.
- A rubber plug at lower rear protects external thermocouple socket from corrosion and connects internal sensor. Pulling out the plug disconnects internal probe and halts equipment. Remove and store the plug when using external thermocouple, insert thermocouple plug and tighten nut, immerse stainless steel sensing probe into solution for accurate temperature control.
- Thermocouple break protection: If thermocouple connection fails, display shows “hhhh”, green light turns off and heating stops. Inspect wiring before reuse.

3. Safety Precautions
- Never operate dry without liquid medium.
- Mandatory ground wire connection for safe operation.
- All stirring motors are equipped with cooling fans to extend service life. Do not run heating function alone during high-temperature experiments; keep motor rotating at low or medium speed (idling allowed) to avoid motor and circuit damage from thermal radiation. Contact distributor for repair if motor fails to start; manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by improper operation.
- After high-temperature experiments, turn off heating first, wait several minutes for residual heat dissipation then stop stirring motor.
- Heating surface reaches high temperature during operation, take care to prevent scald injury.
- If leakage occurs from wet hands, liquid overflow or long-term high humidity storage, fully air-dry before reuse to eliminate safety hazards.
- Store in dry, corrosion-free environment when not in use for long periods.
- Inductive static electricity may transmit to housing through insulation under high ambient humidity; reliable grounding and good ventilation are required.
- Ambient relative humidity range: 35%–85% (non-condensing).
- Fuse specification: Φ5×20, 15A.
