3. Differences Between Graphite and Stainless Steel Hot Plates
3.1 Graphite Electric Hot Plate
Adopting special craftsmanship, it avoids damage caused by long-term continuous running. It has large heating area, uniform heating and fast temperature rise. With precise PID digital temperature control, it can work continuously for more than 48 hours. The maximum working temperature of ET series reaches 450℃. It is high temperature resistant, corrosion resistant and easy to clean.
Application Scope: Environmental monitoring, university laboratories, chemical plants, agricultural academies, fertilizer factories, forestry departments, quality supervision, food & pharmaceutical analysis, customs and more.
Core Advantages:
- Uniform Heating: Made of isostatic high-purity graphite with excellent thermal conductivity to ensure even temperature across the whole panel.
- Precise Temperature Control: Automatic PID parameter self-checking and heating rate adjustment. Control accuracy: ±0.1℃, single-point temperature fluctuation: ±2.0℃.
- Energy Saving: Unique heating and thermal insulation structure saves over 20% energy compared with similar products.
- Full Corrosion Resistance: Graphite panel resists strong acid and alkali. All connecting parts and cabinet adopt anti-corrosion materials and coating; cabinet holes are coated with high-temperature anti-corrosion paint.
- Split Design: Main unit and controller are separated. The controller can be placed outside fume hood via data cable to protect electronic components from corrosion.
- Temperature Calibration: Built-in temperature correction function. The probe accurately detects and calibrates readings to display the actual reaction temperature of samples.
3.2 Stainless Steel Electric Hot Plate
Widely used for sample baking, drying and various thermal experiments, it is an essential instrument for biology, genetics, medical care, environmental protection, biochemical laboratories and scientific research. It adopts far-infrared ceramic heating technology for fast heating, uniform temperature, energy saving, safety and high efficiency.
Main Features:
- Special forming process prevents warping or deformation under high temperature.
- Stainless steel panel delivers good corrosion resistance.
- Fast and uniform heating, simple operation and high safety.
- Far-infrared ceramic heating reduces power loss and ensures good temperature uniformity.

4. Notes for Stainless Steel Hot Plate
- Continuous working temperature shall be lower than 240℃; instantaneous peak temperature shall not exceed 300℃.
- It can work under compression with auxiliary pressure plate for better heat conduction. Power density can reach 3W/cm² when temperature is below 240℃.
- For adhesive installation, allowable working temperature is below 150℃.
- For suspended dry burning, power density shall be less than 1W/cm²; up to 1.4W/cm² for intermittent operation.
- Follow the rule: high power matches high voltage, low power matches low voltage (except for special requirements).

5. Operation Steps for Stainless Steel Hot Plate
- Clean the working surface thoroughly to remove water droplets and dirt.
- Place sample bottles or other labware on the panel.
- Connect power supply and turn on the switch; the indicator light will turn on.
- Adjust the temperature knob to set required temperature. Assign full-time operator during operation.
- Turn off the switch and cut off power after use.
- Clean the panel after it cools down completely.
