Purpose of Constant Temperature Heating Stage

Used for soldering and repairing aluminum substrates in the LED industry. Constant temperature heating for glue dispensing and encapsulation in all electronics industries. It is used for baking, drying samples and other temperature-related tests. 1. Heating Stage Not Heating

When turning on the heating switch of the constant temperature heating stage but the aluminum platform fails to heat, the potential faults are as follows:

Fault Causes

• Heater tube burnout (highest probability)
• Damaged heating switch
• Failed solid state relay
• Faulty temperature controller

Inspection & Maintenance

Open the bottom cover of the constant temperature platform.

1. Inspect the heater tube
Disconnect the main power supply. Switch the multimeter to the ohm range to test the resistance of the heater tube. Since the heater wires are connected together, cut each wire for individual testing.
Normal resistance of the heater tube is approx. tens to 200 ohms. If the resistance reads infinite or only several ohms, the heater tube is damaged and needs replacement.

2. Inspect the heating switch
Disconnect the main power supply. Switch the multimeter to the buzzer mode. Toggle the switch to ON position, use probes to check if the switch terminals are connected. If both circuits conduct, the switch is good; otherwise replace it.

3. Inspect the solid state relay
Warning: Risk of electric shock! Power on the heating stage and turn on heating switch.
If the indicator light of solid state relay is on or flashing, the input terminal of SSR works normally. If the indicator is off, use multimeter to measure terminals 3-4 of SSR to check for 12VDC. If no voltage is detected, the temperature controller is damaged.
Switch multimeter to 750V AC range, measure terminals 1-2 of SSR. If there is stable 220VAC without change, the solid state relay is defective and needs replacement.

4. Inspect the temperature controller
Power on the platform and turn on heating switch. Check whether the temperature controller displays normally.
If display works normally, switch multimeter to 20VDC DC range and measure terminals 3-4 of SSR for 12VDC. No voltage indicates a faulty temperature controller for replacement.

2. Inaccurate Temperature Display of Constant Temperature Heating Stage

• If “AT” flashes on the SV window: this is triggered by long pressing the decimal point shift key to activate auto-tuning of temperature controller.
  To cancel: long press decimal shift key for 3 seconds then release, the flashing “AT” will disappear. It will automatically cancel within 30 minutes if not manually reset.
• If PV window shows code 1312 and SV window shows “oral”: it means open circuit in heating stage wiring, the circuit needs replacement.
