Integrated vs Split Type Hot Plate: Differences & Maintenance Guide
Lab Constant Temperature Hot Plate
Product Overview
Constant temperature hot plate is a common laboratory heating instrument. It features easy operation, uniform heat dissipation and sturdy construction. The heating wire is enclosed inside the housing without exposed parts, suitable for heating and heat preservation of samples that cannot be exposed to open flame. It consists of housing, microcrystalline glass heating surface, ceramic fiber furnace tray and high-temperature nichrome heating wire plus control unit. The housing options include full stainless steel or high-quality stamped carbon steel with electrostatic powder coating. Intelligent digital temperature controller delivers accurate and reliable temperature regulation.
Difference Between Integrated and Split Hot Plate
Digital display constant temperature hot plates are available in two structures: integrated type and split type.
- Integrated Type: The control meter is installed at the bottom of the main housing. All-in-one structure, compact layout, convenient for desktop fixed placement.
- Split Type: The temperature controller is a separate standalone unit, which can be placed remotely away from the hot plate main body. Ideal for high-temperature or corrosive lab environments to protect the control panel.
Users can select the structure according to actual laboratory working conditions and usage requirements.
Maintenance & Operation Instructions
- After each use, turn the energy switch to OFF position, then turn off the main power switch.
- Unplug the power plug for long-term idle storage, store the hot plate in dry place and cover with plastic dust cover.
- Clean the instrument thoroughly before maintenance and repair.
- Keep the user manual properly for future reference.
- Do not tamper with safety protection devices. The manufacturer shall not be liable for property loss or personal injury caused by unauthorized modification.

- The manufacturer shall not be liable for damages caused by failure to follow safety precautions.
- The manufacturer is not responsible for equipment defects caused by improper or non-compliant operation.
- When rapid heating to high temperature, keeping the switch at FULL position should not exceed 20 minutes. Or use gear 1~5 according to actual requirements.
- Perform regular inspection and maintenance including cleaning, routine checks to guarantee safe operation.
- For cleaning, use common commercial detergents and industrial water.
